Roy's Peak

I thought I was going to die today and I am not even kidding. So today we hiked to roy’s peak. Momma and Kaisho left by the end of the hike as they got really tired. However, I decided to stay and do it on my own. This led using shortcuts to get to the peak. It was all going good until I chose the wrong way and got stuck in wild bushes with thorns and mud. I tried so hard to get out of there but nothing worked. My legs started bleeding from the thorns and random bumps started appearing, perhaps from my allergies. For at least 30 minutes I couldn’t see anyone. No one was around, no human, no animal but, scary hills. The beautiful views now seemed terrifying. Imagine you being stuck on the top of the hill, some 4 hours away from the base and you can’t even spot your tiny car in the parking. Both my mom’s and my brother’s phone were with me and mine was dead, and i couldn’t contact anyone. I had a severe panic attack and couldn’t find an escape. I was crying but was unable to ask for help and just couldn’t move. I was so sure that I was gonna die as I couldn’t see anyone around and it was started getting dark. 30 minutes later I heard a voice. Someone was around. But I kept crying quietly. In my head, I kept saying help but nothing came out of my mouth. I stood there watching one last hope walk by and “help” I screamed. They looked around to track the voice. I shouted, “could you please help me?” as I was crying. This couple looked at me and they came running. In no time they were up there. They helped me calm down and got me out of there. And that’s how I got rescued. I will be forever grateful to Farhan and Jas. They literally saved my life. By the end of it I was 1.5 kilometers away from the peak. But, I decided to go back cause I just wanted to run to my fam to tell them about everything. I just wanted to go hug mommy. But yeah it was quite an adventurous day. This experience taught me that shortcuts are not the way to the summit of anything. The long way is hard but, you have to go through it. Also, it is a good idea to train yourself at least a week before for a hike like this. Always wear your hiking boots and carry hiking poles with you.
